ST. BEDE'S ATHLETIC CLUB

St. Bede's Athletic Club is a running club based at Esholt Sports and Social Club near Bradford, West Yorkshire. The club meets every Tuesday evening at  at 7pm. Click here for map. The clubhouse has changing and showering facilities with a bar on site. Food is available after running.

The club caters mainly for adult athletes of any age from 18 to 85 and of any ability from complete beginner to serious athlete. We will accept any members over the age of 11 at the committee's discretion but at the moment have no dedicated junior coaches. New members are welcome to come and try us for free for several weeks before they need to pay any subscriptions.

Club Committee

Training sessions are varied with runs between 4 and 10 miles in distance - on the road during the winter months and mainly off road through the local woods and moors when light permits.   Speed and hill sessions are also incorporated in the training program devised by the 5 qualified male and female club coaches.  The coaches are always willing to discuss and assist you with any training matters and will be happy to devise individual training plans to meet specific needs/goals.

Members of the club compete in races on the roads, fells and cross country but at the moment does not compete in track and field athletics.

On a Thursday evening training sessions are also available at Greens Leisure Centre in Charlestown, Baildon. These runs again vary in intensity and provide opportunity for coaching and are ideal for beginners. All abilities are catered for and we pride ourselves on looking after newcomers - nobody gets left behind. 

At Green's, St. Bede's members can make use of the swimming pool, Jacussi, Sauna etc. after the run.

Socially the club organises quiz nights, ladies and men's socials, trips to races, etc.

Membership is £25 per year which includes annual membership of Esholt Sports & Social Club enabling use of their facilities at any time. Come along any Tuesday or Thursday or E-mail Jack Verity in advance or for directions.
